Lately I have been obsessed with figuring out my face/eye/nose shapes. Knowing your face shape can help determine the best hair cut, where to apply blush and how to contour your face just to name a few. After watching tons of YouTube videos and reading countless articles, I found a method that made sense to me. Again there are several different methods. Let’s get started.
There are several different face shapes. You can have one main face shapes with hints of another. Also your face shape does not have anything to do with your features ex Full Lips, wide eyes, etc. Just because you and your favorite star have the same face shape does not mean you look alike.

How to Measure
Measuring Tape
Pen
Paper
*It’s hard to take pics and keep the tape straight but you get the drift
Forehead
– Measure the widest section of your forehead. From hair line to hair line
Jaw line
– From widest point to widest point
Cheekbones
– From beginning of ear, across nose, to the other ear
Length of face
– From hair line to end of chin
My Measurements
Forehead 7.55”
Jawline 7.50”
Cheekbones 11”
Length of face 8”
Determine Face Shape
Oval
– If length is equal to 1.5 of width
– Example L= 9 W=6 6*1.5=9
– Again if you multiply your width by 1.5 and it equal your length, you have an oval face
Oblong
– Length is larger than width
– You do not meet the requirements of the other face shapes
Square
– If forehead, cheekbones, jaw line and length are all roughly the same (may be off by .25”)
Diamond
– If you are the widest at the cheekbones
– Example my measurements
Heart
– Forehead and cheekbones are the same but the chin is narrow
– Example 7.5” forehead, 7.5 cheekbones, and 5” jaw line
Round
– If length and width are the same and forehead and jaw line are the same
– L=9” W= 9”; JL= 7.5” FH= 7.5”
Pear
– Forehead is smaller than jaw line and cheekbones
